UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO - SCARBOROUGH CAMPUS

This building felt like a space from the future even though it was built in the 60s by australian architect John Andrews. The University of Toronto Scarborough Campus is one of Toronto's brutalist monolith structures.

I have to come back here. I wanted to move in!

Blue Fog - Thuringia, Germany

The Thuringian Forest is called the "Green Heart of Germany", right in the center. And it is my "Heimat". "Heimat" in german describes the place where you feel home, often where you were born and feel a lot of connection to. The forest never looks the same and especially not engulfed in fog. These photos were taken around the town of Oberhof and the second highest peak in Thuringia called Schneekopf.

Above and Below - Toronto, Canada

Every year around February or March, Ashbridge Bay and Woodbine Beach in Toronto turn into a surreal world of reflection and foggy play of parallels. The snow melts into a mirror of water and ice and the above becomes the below.

Single Family House in Arnarnes - Garðabær, Iceland

"New construction of a single family house for a family of seven. The new two level building is organized around a lightwell on the entry level. The bedrooms are located to the northeast side, whilst the family room and kitchen are at the soutwest side enjoying a view of the inlet beyond. The formal dining room and living area continue along the large glazed facade towards the spectacular view of the Reykjanes Peninsula. A large fireplace subdivides the space and provides a vertical anchoring for an open staircase leading to the family rooms on the lower level." (Gláma Kím)

Single family house in Fossvogur - Reykjavík, Iceland

"A mid 1960´s villa by architect Guðmundur Kr. Kristinsson needed renovation and repair. The original house was a prime example of late modern architecture in Reykjavik. The project encompassed exterior renovations and retrofitting executed with respect to the high quality typical of Guðmundur´s design." by Gláma Kím

Icelandic Home with New Addition by Gláma Kím - Reykjavík

"An addition to a modest wooden house constructed in 1935.
The site governs a view of the City Park of Laugardalur and the city burroughs beyond.
The new addition was designed as a counterpoint to the original building, modern in articulation but respectful of scale and proportion." by icelandic architect firm Gláma Kím.

Center Hotel by Gláma Kím - Reykjavík, Iceland

End of October 2017 I returned to Iceland. In collaboration with Gláma Kím we were able to photograph 11 of their projects within 6 days! Most of them were located in Reykjavík and one in Akureyri that I will show soon!

The new Center Hotel at Laugavegur 120 in Reykjavík was one of the projects I was particularly looking forward to! The new addition designed by Gláma Kím includes not only the Jörgensen Kitchen and Bar but also a beautiful Spa and Gym area.
